I have a dell 2400 and want to change the celeron 2.4 and want to change it 2 a p4 2.66 will it improve it?

Ok I am in the process of upgrading my dell 2400 I have changed the 40 gig hard drive to a 160 ordered a gig of memory and was thinking of changing the 2.4 celeron to a p4 2.66. Is it a waste of time changing it? Also I obtained chipset drivers from dell for and was wondering if I would need to change the drivers if I used the p4?Basically I am trying to find out if I go with p4 is there potential problems it is compatable with this comp.I see the celeron has 400 mhz fsb and the p4 has a 533 mhz fsb I really can't afford to buy a new computer at the moment so I am trying to make the best of what I got. I mostly use it for school and dvd creation and it is so slow when I create dvds compared to my friends computers.
