Why is the left so hateful towards Christianity and traditional American values?

The Left tends to be Hypocritical often. Especially when it comes to fiscal policy. They talk about how we need to help the poor and lower cles, then they raise the taxes on the Middle Cl. It makes no sense at all. Also, their views on social issues are sometimes just ridiculous. For instance, Gay marriage, Affirmative Action, and their views on the Death Penalty all bother me.
