Tax deductions on Scientology donations?

I'm an American citizen living in Canada at the moment. Unfortunately the bigots in the Canadian government don't recognize scientology as a religion and therefore the church doesn't have tax exempt status here. This may be a stupid question, but is there any way my U.S citizenship could entitle me to tax deductions? I've spent over $20,000 on CoS material and courses this year, so it would be nice. Thanks.
