HELP! Urgent! Laptop lcd gone bad?

I have a advent 7018 laptop. I was using it, and then the laptop screen went black. I turned it back on, and now i can only a very faint bit on the screen, its completly black apart from i can see a very faint bit. Can anyone help? Is this fixable without buying anything? PLEASE?
